# Humanity Cares Humanity Cares is a Miami 501(c)(3) public charity that runs beach cleanups and cultural activations. It operates legally as Waveway Foundation Inc., EIN 33-4547181, and has been recognised tax-exempt since April 9, 2025. It is based at 5861 SW 14th St, Miami, FL 33144 and can be reached at Kelly@HumanityCaresFoundation.org. ## What is Humanity Cares? Humanity Cares is a global movement dedicated to protecting our planet and uplifting its people. We blend music, art and culture with environmental, humanitarian and health initiatives, creating community-driven experiences that turn awareness into action. The promise the foundation works to is this: protect the planet, support its people, and inspire a future where care drives everything we do. ## How do I volunteer for a beach cleanup in Miami? Humanity Cares cleanups are open events in Miami, and volunteers sign up for a specific date rather than joining a membership. Gloves, pickers and buckets are provided on the day, so a volunteer brings a water bottle and sunscreen. Sponsor and artist outreach is open now. ## What happens at a Humanity Cares cleanup? A cleanup runs as a fixed sequence of six stages, and the format is the same every time. 1. Arrive. Meet at the park. Sign in, grab a coffee, get your headset. 2. Move. 45 minutes of yoga, breathwork or beach HIIT with a local studio partner. 3. Brief. Safety briefing and team huddle. Gloves, pickers and buckets handed out. 4. Clean. An hour on the sand and dunes, with a DJ set playing through everyone's headsets. 5. Weigh. Everything gets weighed and logged. Group photo with the haul. 6. Celebrate. Live set, a drink from the venue, and a short sustainability wrap-up. ## What does Humanity Cares work on? The foundation works across four pillars: Ocean Protection, Earth Conservation, Health & Nutrition and Community Care. - Ocean Protection: Cleanups, plastic reduction, marine conservation and coastal restoration. Preserving the lifeblood of our planet for future generations. - Earth Conservation: Tree planting, mangrove restoration, regenerative land practices and biodiversity conservation. A healthier planet from the ground up. - Health & Nutrition: Access to nutrition, mental health awareness, community gardens and regenerative food systems. Healthier communities from the inside out. - Community Care: Homelessness support, poverty relief, outreach programs and social impact initiatives. Every cleanup ends with a weigh-in, where the haul goes onto a scale in front of the volunteers and the figure is logged rather than estimated. Individuals donate through DonorBox at https://humanitycaresfoundation.org/donate, which is tax-deductible because the foundation is a 501(c)(3). Brands sponsor a whole cleanup through one of four tiers at https://humanitycaresfoundation.org/sponsor. The tiers are not priced on the site; the cost of one is quoted on enquiry. ## Who runs Humanity Cares? Kelly Angel is the founder of Humanity Cares. In her own words: "I'm a Miami native, an ocean enthusiast, and I started this foundation because I've seen firsthand what plastic pollution does to our water.
